Power Plant Chemistry
Course Description
To solve problems of water to harmonize human society with natural environment, scientific understanding of the nature of water and development of water treatment technologies may play an important role. The research and development in this field require not only basic knowledge of chemistry, physics, microbiology, metallurgy, etc., but also broad knowledge of applied science. The water treatment methods are generally divided into chemical, mechanical and microbiological ones. Power Plant a vital service to the operation of most major industrial plants. Unfortunately, they are usually ignored until they cause problems and then it can be too late. The plant will suffer a major derating or outage that could have been avoided. This course is a must for the key personnel at any plant that relies upon reliable cooling water and steam production. This would include:
The Training Course Will Highlight ?
Training Objective

This course is designed to empower participants with an overview on the different water treatment methods, for different types of water source and also provides latest technology of this filed. By the end of the training course, participants will be able to select the appropriate technology for their water treatment plants and protect their industry and also surrounding environment. By the end of this training course, participants will learn:

  • Gain an in-depth knowledge on water treatment for plant utilities, offsite and cogeneration
  • Determine the importance, role and use of water treatment
  • Carryout external treatment for boiler applications and review
  • Describe the step-by-step process and perform monitoring of internal treatment operation
  • Enumerate cooling water treatment program requirements
  • Identify the parts of the selected cooling systems including its features & functions
  • Conduct performance and improve in-service cleaning including chemical & mechanical methods
