Well Integrity and Well Integrity Management Systems
Course Description
This course provides a comprehensive understanding of well integrity principles and the implementation of Well Integrity Management Systems (WIMS). Participants will explore the key components of well integrity, including barriers and what to when they all fail, failure modes, equipment, and annulus pressure management and its rigless repair options. A usually missing important aspect: ‘how to properly select the X-Tree specs needed’ is also going to be covered.
The Training Course Will Highlight ?

The course blends theoretical insights with practical applications, empowering participants to manage well integrity challenges effectively and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Training Objective

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Define well integrity and understand its critical importance in oil and gas operations.
  2. Identify common well integrity risks, failure modes, and preventive measures.
  3. Explain the components and functions of Well Integrity Management Systems (WIMS).
  4. Analyze barrier philosophies and implement effective barriers in well design and operations.
  5. Learn how to deal with the full lack of barriers.
  6. Manage annulus pressures, including sustained annulus pressure (SAP) and its rigless repair.
  7. Conduct practical assessments and exercises for well integrity troubleshooting and system improvement.
  8. Learn how to properly choose the right X-Tree specs needed.

Target Audience

This course is designed for:

  • Engineers, supervisors, and technical staff involved in drilling, completions, well integrity, production, HSE, maintenance, asset integrity, well services, abandonment and well operations.
  • Professionals responsible for well integrity management and maintenance.
  • Managers and decision-makers seeking a deeper understanding of well integrity principles and systems.
  • Newcomers to the oil and gas industry interested in learning about well integrity.

Training Methods

The course employs an interactive learning approach, including:

  • Classroom lectures with industry-relevant case studies.
  • Hands-on exercises to reinforce key concepts and applications.
  • Group discussions to address real-world challenges.
  • Practical examples and exercises focusing on system implementation and troubleshooting.
