Course Description
This course is designed to enhance the reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of desalination plant operations through optimized maintenance and asset management strategies. It focuses on best practices for maintaining key desalination systems such as Reverse Osmosis (RO), Multi-Stage Flash (MSF), and Multi-Effect Distillation (MED), including pumps, membranes, heat exchangers, and control systems.

  • Corrosion, scaling, and biofouling control
  • Chemical cleaning concepts and shutdown planning

Day 4 – Reliability and Condition-Based Maintenance

  • Preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance concepts
  • Vibration, thermal, and performance monitoring principles
  • Using condition data for maintenance decision-making
  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA)
  • Maintenance planning and scheduling optimization

Day 5 – Performance Improvement and Cost Optimization

  • Asset performance indicators (MTBF, availability, OEE)
  • Spare parts and inventory optimization
  • Maintenance cost control and budgeting
  • Continuous improvement and reliability culture
  • Case studies and best-practice applications
Accreditation

RECTUS attendance certificate will be awarded to all participants who complete at least 80% of the total course duration.
