  • Case studies: identifying signs of mechanical failures in real scenarios
  • General discussion: sharing common plant issues and challenges

Day 2: Shaft Alignment Principles & Methods

  • Alignment fundamentals: geometric relationships and machine train concepts
  • Dial indicator methods: rim‑face, reverse dial – principles and advantages
  • Laser alignment concepts: measurement theory, target setting, thermal growth
  • Common alignment errors and their consequences on machinery performance
  • Workshop-style exercise: interpreting alignment readings and correction steps
  • Video demonstration & group discussion

Day 3: Vibration Measurement & Analysis Fundamentals

  • Vibration parameters: frequency, amplitude, phase, waveform – what they indicate
  • Measurement theory: sensor types, mounting methods, and data quality essentials
  • Understanding vibration severity standards (ISO 10816/20816 concepts)
  • Spectral analysis (FFT) theory and identification of mechanical faults
  • Workshop-style interpretation of sample vibration spectra
  • Group discussion: common mistakes in vibration data collection

Day 4: Diagnostic Interpretation & Troubleshooting Concepts

  • Theoretical diagnosis of imbalance, misalignment, looseness and resonance
  • Bearing and gear fault indications through vibration signatures
  • Case studies: real industrial vibration problems and solution paths
  • Developing alarm limits, trending strategies, and reliability KPIs
  • Interactive exercise: solving vibration/ alignment problems using provided scenarios
  • General discussion: linking diagnostics to maintenance decision-making

Day 5: Reliability Integration & Improvement Strategies

  • Integrating alignment and vibration analysis into reliability programs
  • Developing PM/PdM tasks based on analytical insights
  • Root cause analysis discussions using real case examples
  • Workshop-style session: designing an improvement action plan
  • Video review of alignment and vibration best practices
  • Final group presentation and open discussion/wrap-up
