This designation, which you can earn with only a year of applicable experience, shows hiring managers that you have an assured grasp of the fundamental security skills you need to level up your career. The APP exam consists of 125 multiple-choice questions covering tasks, knowledge and skills across four broad domains and your tutor. This bootcamp aids your preparation with complete mock exams, assessing your understanding of the materials and highlighting areas for further study. Note: the ASIS exams are experience-based therefore, you will need to apply your own experience to answer the questions correctly.
The Training Course Will Highlight ?

The Associate Protection Professional (APP) certification is designed for entry-level security professionals who are looking to build a strong foundation in security management principles.

To be eligible, candidates must:

  • Have at least 1 year of paid experience in a security-related role.
    • Candidates who hold an approved security certification may qualify with as little as 6 months of paid security experience.
  • Be employed full-time in a security-related position.
  • Have no criminal convictions that could negatively impact their professional standing in the security industry or the ASIS certification program.
  • Agree to comply with the ASIS Certification Code of Conduct.
  • Adhere to all ASIS certification policies and requirements outlined in the Certification Handbook.
Training Objective

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the relationship between lubrication excellence, asset management, and machine reliability.
  • Apply lubrication best practices to improve equipment performance and reduce failures.
  • Select appropriate lubricants based on machine requirements and operating conditions.
  • Implement condition-based maintenance (CBM) and lubricant condition monitoring programs.
  • Identify lubrication-related failure mechanisms and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
  • Develop effective lubrication procedures, inspection routes, and maintenance schedules.
  • Manage lubricant storage, handling, contamination control, and reclamation processes.
  • Improve safety, environmental compliance, and energy efficiency through optimized lubrication practices.
  • Establish lubrication performance metrics and continuous improvement programs.

About the Exam

  • To gain the post-nominals ‘APP’, The ASIS exam can now be taken at your own home – meaning you don’t necessarily need to travel to a test center. Alternatively, you can sit the exam at a Prometric test center – which you book via ASIS directly.
  • Whichever exam option you choose, you are responsible for booking it and submitting your education and experience references.
  • The APP® exam consists of 100 scored and 25 unscored multiple-choice questions. The exam covers tasks, knowledge and skills across the four key domains in this course.
  • The exam fee is not included in this training package.
